FAQ
Short answers to the questions we hear most. Each answer links to the guide or concept page that explains it in full.
Account and sign-in
Section titled “Account and sign-in”Which page opens after I sign in? If you go to app.roudiy.com, Roudiy opens the first page in your sidebar: the Dashboard for most roles and Fleet View for Compliance Managers. If you open the sign-in page directly, for example from a bookmark or after Sign out, you land on Fleet View. See Sign in.
Can I change my email? Not by yourself. Your email is also your sign-in for the ELD platform, so it is changed through support. See Edit your profile.
Is my Roudiy password the same as my ELD password? Yes. It is one account, so a new password works in both. In Roudiy you change it with Forgot password? on the sign-in page; Change password on My profile is not available yet. See Reset a forgotten password.
Roles, groups and access
Section titled “Roles, groups and access”Why can’t I see a page or menu item my colleague has? The sidebar shows only the pages your role allows, so people with different roles or permissions see different menus. Ask your Company Admin to change your access. See Find your way around and Groups and access.
I changed a user’s group, but they still see the old trucks. Why? Access changes reach users on their next sign-in refresh, which can take up to 15 minutes. See Change a user’s access.
Can I change what the Dispatcher role may do? Not directly: system roles are fixed. Duplicate the role and change the copy, which becomes a custom role. See Create a custom role.
Vehicles, drivers and kits
Section titled “Vehicles, drivers and kits”Do drivers get a login? No. Drivers don’t sign in. Their trips, events and score follow the driver assignment a dispatcher makes on the vehicle’s Live tab. See Add a driver.
Why does a truck show Unassigned instead of a driver? Nobody is assigned to it, so Trips and events are recorded without a driver. Nothing is lost, but those events do not count in any driver’s score until you assign the trips. See Vehicles, drivers and assignments.
Why is a kit Sleeping and not Offline? Sleeping means it is offline because the ignition is off, which is normal for a parked truck. See Device Hub.
My CSV import refused the whole file. Why? Imports are all or nothing: fix the listed rows and upload the whole file again. Keep each file under 1 MB and split bigger ones. See Import vehicles from CSV.
Live map and trips
Section titled “Live map and trips”Why is a truck Offline or No data? Offline means the kit stopped reporting; the pin shows the last known place, not where the truck is now. No data means Roudiy has no data to show for the truck. In both cases check in Device Hub that a kit is paired and online. See Trips and GPS.
Why does one long drive show up as several trips? A trip ends at each state border and after 5 minutes below 5 mph, so a fuel stop or a border crossing starts a new trip. See Trips.
How do I give trips without a driver to the right driver? On Trips, turn on Unassigned only, tick the finished trips (up to 50 at a time) and click Assign driver. It needs Assignments: manage. See Trips.
How do I get video from earlier in the day or from last week? Request it from the truck’s SD card. One request takes up to 3 segments (9 minutes) from one channel, and an offline truck uploads it when it comes back, waiting up to 7 days. The card overwrites old footage over time, so request it soon. See Get a video from the SD card.
Why is the live stream limited? Streaming uses minutes from a monthly allowance per camera, 10 minutes by default and set by your plan. Months are counted in UTC, and the button shows how much is left. See Watch a live camera.
Who can see the driver-facing camera (CH2)? By default the Company Admin and Safety Manager roles. Without the driver-facing video permission, CH2 is hidden; CH1 and an installed CH3 still show. To let Dispatchers see CH2, a Company Admin ticks Dispatcher in Camera & privacy and also gives them a custom role with the Video: driver facing permission. See Camera & privacy.
Why don’t I see Take snapshot? Your role has no snapshot permission. By default only the Company Admin and the Safety Manager have it, so the Dispatcher role does not. See Take a snapshot.
How long are videos kept? Ready videos are kept for 30 days by default, set by your plan. Lock a video to keep it past that until it is unlocked. See Video.
Safety events and coaching
Section titled “Safety events and coaching”Can a Dispatcher review safety events? Not with the default role. A Dispatcher sees the list, Quick view and the event page, but no review buttons or checkboxes. See The Safety Inbox.
Why don’t I see new events in the Safety Inbox? The Inbox does not refresh by itself. Click Refresh. See The Safety Inbox.
Can I choose which events go into a coaching session? Not at start: up to 50 eligible events go in. On the session page you can Dismiss an event that should not be discussed, or add more with Add events. Dismiss asks for a reason, sets the event to Dismissed and removes it from the driver’s score. See Start a coaching session.
Safety scores
Section titled “Safety scores”Which events count toward a score? Events with the status Needs review, Coachable or Coached. Dismissed and Recognized events don’t count, and unassigned events count only toward vehicle scores. See Safety events.
When do score changes appear? Scores update every Monday, with weeks counted in the company time zone. A review you make today counts from the next Monday calculation. If you change an event’s driver, driver scores update within 10 minutes. See Safety scores.
Why is a driver’s score N/A? The driver’s latest week has no score: a week under 100 miles is N/A, or no score has been calculated yet. See A driver’s profile.
Alerts and notifications
Section titled “Alerts and notifications”Why didn’t my alert fire? Check that the rule is switched on, that the event happened inside Active hours in company time, that the truck is in your groups and that the cooldown was not running. Events from before you saved the rule do not count. See Create an alert rule.
What can an alert rule watch for? Three triggers: Safety event, Kit offline (after 24 hours) and New fault code. Recipients are chosen by role, and the channels are In-app and Email; there is no SMS. See Alerts and notifications.
Why did I get a fault-code notification without any rule? Company Admins and Dispatchers get an in-app notice for every new fault code. It is not an alert rule and cannot be turned off. See Notifications.
Our Safety Manager can’t open Alert rules. Will they still get alerts? Yes. Safety Managers have no alert rules or alert history by default, but they get alerts when a rule names their role, such as the default rule for critical and high safety events. See Create an alert rule.
Fuel and IFTA
Section titled “Fuel and IFTA”Why can’t I generate the IFTA report yet? Roudiy needs 72 hours after the quarter ends to finish processing trip data. The page says when you can generate. See Build a quarterly IFTA report.
Why does my IFTA report say Outdated? A trip or fuel purchase in that quarter changed after you generated it, or the quarter’s tax rates were reloaded. Click Generate again. See Build a quarterly IFTA report.
Why can’t I edit or delete a fuel purchase? Its quarter is locked, so edit and delete are disabled. Start an amendment to change it. Locking cannot be undone. See Lock a quarter and amend it.
My fuel-card file is 3 MB. What now? Split it, for example by month or by group of trucks, so that each file is under 1 MB, and import the files one after another. See Import fuel purchases.
Reports and dashboard
Section titled “Reports and dashboard”How long are report files kept? 7 days. After that the row turns Expired; click Run again to make a new file. See Run a report.
Why are the times in my exported report different from the screen? Reports, exported files and report periods use the company time zone, so everyone gets the same numbers. The screen shows times in 12-hour format in your personal time zone if you set one, otherwise the company’s. See Edit your profile.
Can I get a report emailed to me every week? No. Reports have no schedule and no email; run the report when you need it. See Run a report.
