Dispatcher: your day

Dispatcher

As a dispatcher you live in Fleet View, one click below the Dashboard that opens when you open app.roudiy.com (signing in on the sign-in page directly opens Fleet View). You see the trucks of your groups (for example Dallas North), or the whole company if your admin gave you that access. This page follows a normal day, from the morning check to the end of the shift.

Open Fleet View → Live. Every truck is on the map and in the list with a status:

Status What it means
Moving Ignition on and driving.
Idle Ignition on, but the truck has not moved for a few minutes.
Ignition off The truck is parked with the engine off.
Offline The kit has stopped reporting. The card shows Offline · Last seen and how long ago.

You may also see No data. The map and the list refresh every 30 seconds, so you do not need to reload.

Start with the Offline trucks. Open one: the Live tab shows Offline — last seen … Showing the last known location. A truck parked with the ignition off may simply be asleep: in Fleet → Device Hub its connection shows Sleeping, which means offline with the ignition off. A truck that is offline while it should be running is worth a call to the driver. If a kit stays offline for 24 hours, your Company Admin gets an alert.

While you are there, glance at Vehicle health for trucks with active engine fault codes.

Click a truck to open its Live tab: location, the engine data from the KD032 gateway (fuel, RPM, odometer and more) and the current driver. To see where it has been, open History: the day is a timeline of trips and stops you can play back on the map at ×1, ×10 or ×60. A dotted line marks a stretch without GPS data.

To find a person rather than a truck, open Fleet View → Drivers: each driver with their vehicle, status and location.

A trip is one drive: it starts when the truck moves and ends after it has been stopped for a few minutes (a new trip also starts at a state border). Fleet View → Trips lists the trips of the last 7 days by default (up to 31 days), with start and end places, miles and state. Use Export CSV to share them.

Trips without a driver do not count in anyone’s safety score. When a driver forgot to be assigned, select the trips without a driver (up to 50 at a time) and click Assign driver. It is all or nothing: if that driver was on another truck during one of the trips, Nothing was assigned.

When a driver swaps trucks, open the truck’s Live tab and click Change driver, or Assign driver if it has none. A truck has one driver at a time and a driver has one truck. If the driver you pick is on another truck, Roudiy warns you that the other assignment will end. Use End assignment when the truck is parked with nobody on it.

To check who drove a truck last week, open its assignment history.

  • Live camera. On a truck, click Start live stream and pick a camera. Each camera has a monthly allowance of live minutes (10 minutes by default, set by your plan), so stop when you are done. One camera per truck streams at a time. When the ignition is off, the dashcam sleeps and cannot stream.
  • Snapshot. A photo or a 10-second clip from one camera. The Dispatcher system role does not include snapshots; if you need them, ask your Company Admin for a custom role.
  • SD card video. For something that already happened, request up to 9 minutes (three 3-minute segments) from one camera. If the truck is offline, the request waits up to 7 days for it to come online. You get a notification when the video is ready, and ready videos are kept for 30 days under Video → Requests.

The Dispatcher role does not see the driver-facing camera (CH2).

A geofence is an area you draw on the map: a yard, a customer site or a zone you want to keep an eye on. Dispatchers can create, change and delete geofences. Turn them on in Map layers to see them next to your trucks.

The bell at the top right shows what needs you: video ready, alerts and more. Clicking an item opens the thing it is about. You can also make alert rules just for yourself under Alerts → Alert rules → My rules, for example an alert for every harsh-braking event on TRK-102 (harsh braking is Medium severity, so tick Medium), and see what fired under Alert history. New fault codes on your groups’ trucks reach your bell without any rule.
